So it has a flatbed design rather than a turntable, which means it can be used to cook and reheat large dishes. Its mirror-finish door looks great but is a fingerprint magnet.

Flatbed technology– No turntable means you can place square plates and casserole dishes inside the microwave for more versatile usage.We found the controls weren’t very responsive: you have to give them a good, firm push and sometimes find yourself pressing them repeatedly, unsure whether it’s being registered.

Operate this Russell Hobbs microwave using the four-button control panel. The Microwave button lets you select your cooking time. Simply press the Microwave button until your required time is reached; the time increases by 30 seconds until 5 minutes and it then increases by 1 minute until 60 minutes. The Stop and Start buttons let you pause and resume cooking. To defrost simply press the Defrost button until your required time is reached; the time increases by 30 seconds until 5 minutes and it then increases by 1 minute until 60 minutes. Press the start button and the microwave will then start to defrost. Flatbed technology, again borrowed from pricier models, means they have done away with the turntable, instead relying on other technologies to ensure even cooking. This means it’s possible to fit much larger dishes in the microwave, for example to reheat meals in rectangular oven dishes that would have been impossible on a turntable.
