Being used to the brass faucet adapter found on the Python water changer, I was unsure as to whether or not this was my fault – I may have overtightened the plastic fitting. I have a 100 gal, 24” tall tank and a125 gal, 6’ long tank. I do frequent 50-80%water changes plus total tear-downs as necessary. I assumed the hook could be lengthened to enable deep hands-free water changes with ease. Instead it drapes just a few inches over the tanks.I ask because I will be putting one together to do weekly 80-90% water changes on a 60 gallon pond, and while I ultimately wouldn’t mind retaining my fishies for a few hours while monitoring the fill, a higher fill rate would obviously be better. Full disclosure: Gravel vacuums are little more than a tube and hose, a design repeated by every brand tested. Because of this, all gravel vacuums tested were able to both clean gravel and siphon water to some degree of effectiveness.
