Four Cousins Natural Sweet Red is a garnet-coloured wine with a soft rose petal nose and flavours of ripe plums, juicy raspberries and a soft silky finish. These four cousins combined their love for family, friends and wine to make delicious everyday drinking wine for people like themselves. The now well-known four Retief cousins joined forces in the mid 90’s. One after the other, after completing their studies, they joined the family farm, Van Loveren, and today they’re the driving force behind the company.

Four Cousins is the story of two sets of brothers from the Retief family of Van Loveren Family Vineyards in the Robertson Valley, Western Cape.The Four Cousins Natural Sweet Red is a ruby-red wine that has a rosy aroma. On the palate are notes of ripe fig and strawberry that make for a versatile wine.
Their first big endeavour was introducing the much loved Four Cousins range of wines in 2000. Released in a rather impressive 1,5 litre bottle, it made a lot of noise and today it’s South Africa’s biggest selling bottled brand.Four Cousins has its roots in the Van Loveren family who have owned land in the Robertson area since 1937. The first muscadel wine was made by Hennie Snr. in 1939. The Four Cousins range was launched in 2000, initially in 1.5 litre bottles, and it is now South Africas biggest-selling bottled brand.
