When it comes to color quality, the Dell P2418D 1440p monitor features an IPS panel with true 8-bit color depth and 99% sRGB color gamut. The first hotkey allows you to swap through the pre-calibrated picture presets (Standard, ComfortView, MultiMedia, Movie, Game) while pressing the second one swaps between the input sources.

There are five monitor hotkeys in total, two of which can be used as shortcuts for certain OSD functions. Finally, theDell P2418D IPS monitor also comes with the Dell Display Managersoftware, which allows you to tweak the OSD settings in a desktop application.On a 23.8″ display of theDell P2418D monitor, the QHD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels results in a pixel density of 123 pixels per inch. Unfortunately, some applications don’t scale well; they either can’t scale at all or have only a few options available (for example, only 100% and 200%).

With an input lag performance of around 14ms, theDell P2418D is fit for competitive gameplay, even though it’s not intended for gaming. However, its low 60Hz refresh rate and absence of gaming features such as a variable refresh rate will most likely repulse most gamers. In the OSD menu, you can customize the shortcut keys for the following functions: aspect ratio, brightness/contrast, and rotate – if you frequently change the monitor’s position to portrait.
