These can be used for triggering Live’s Clips and Scenes, creating drum beats, adjusting mixer functions using ‘virtual’ faders and playing melodic lines using the controller’s Scale and Chord modes. All the buttons on Beatpad’s grid-like interface correspond to a key on your keyboard. Once you’ve loaded some beats, you can play said beats by simply pressing the corresponding key. Go the Settings menu to see how the keys are assigned or, better yet, enable Practice Mode and the interface will clearly display what key you have to press to play a certain beat. The control mode allows you to play sounds from an external device, while support for a huge range of digital audio workstations is also available.
